This post about smelling nice vs. looking attractive is the final post in a 10-day blog skincare routine for men series that is created just for you.
It highlights the difference between smelling nice and looking attractive.
Is Smelling Nice Better Than Looking Attractive?
As guys we are forever
spending a lot on personal development, trying out new outfits,
shoes, cars, perfumes to see if they make us really attractive to people (to ladies
especially!)
This challenges us and
makes life interesting for us.
And you know what as
well?
It can actually be
overwhelming.
Rumors have it that
smelling nice is better than looking attractive and vice versa.
The same can be said
for smelling good vs. looking attractive, as there are good arguments that
support both.
Today I’ll highlight
both the pros and cons of both and then share with you what I personally found
to be the best and leave you with the choice.
The Concept of Smelling Nice
For most guys with
little cash to spear, for expensive outfits, smelling good may sound more
appealing.
You go to a nearby
beauty store and buy an epic cologne or perfume, and some essential
skincare products to use. You use it even without looking attractive or crazy simple on your outfits.
It works and you can
easily maneuver you way in any outfit and event you find yourself in.
Personally, I feel for
a beginner guy it is better to invest in both smelling nice and looking good,
before accessing which is better.
The thing about
smelling nice is that you are constantly on a skincare regime and
you absolutely love it.
This means that you are
going to better understanding how bad odors comes about and how looking
attractive actually works even without any expensive outfits.
As a guy new into personal development, this is super helpful as you try to come up with a basic skincare routine that works for your body.
The Pros of Smelling Nice
When it comes to the
pros of smelling nice I can’t state anything else before I mention the fact
that is long lasting.
To be able to stand out
in the public with a remarkable body scent is totally amazing!
Building a personal
hygiene and a self loved personality doesn’t have to be expensive if you’re
smart and conscious of the skincare products you spend your money on.
Secondly, smelling nice
gives you a better understanding of skincare as a whole and how looking
attractive eventually work.
Finally, smelling nice
is totally a doable thing as you will have to stay at home to do your skincare
regime all by yourself, without thinking of going to a beauty salon for their
service.
As a guy who loves
travelling, this is super helpful to me. I don’t need to worry about body odor
even on my crazy simple casual outfits!
The Cons of Smelling Nice
It is process and
products demanding.
Of course, you can wake
up one morning, take your bath, wear your best clothes and then pour all of the
best perfumes in the world on your body just to make it smell incredible.
But if the perfumes and
body scents aren’t available, I bet you will smell horrible!
*me when I did no
skincare routine.
It requires time and
attention before your body starts oozing out a lovely scent.
Thus you will have to
integrate it with your everyday lifestyle as a skincare routine you stick to.
Hence, it isn’t a fast strategy
at all.
Smelling Nice Vs Looking Attractive
So, let’s talk about
smelling nice vs. looking attractive or other strategy to making people stick
to you like butter.
I have only ever used
my skincare routine as a way of smelling both good and indirectly looking
attractive.
Here’s the dividing
line that I have noted about smelling good and looking attractive.
Those that just dress
up only to look attractive (usually beginner guys in skincare) tends to put on
their best if not expensive outfit at the expense of a good skincare.
*me was a beginner guy
in skincare.
Skincare often isn’t a strategy in and of itself.
There’s just a lot more to doing skincare other than just to smell good
actually.
And that’s where the
difference is, knowledge of what the skin needs to really look
attractive.
Those that smell good
tend to have a very good knowledge of their skin and what it needs to
eventually look attractive, while those that wear best of the best outfits to
look attractive don’t really know a lot about their skin.
Now, I realize that
this just a mere statement because there are guys who wear viral worthy clothes
and use top notch body enhancers to look their best.
I’m mostly referring to newbie’s into using skincare to look attractive.
The Pros of Looking Attractive
Looking attractive
definitely has its pros.
The obvious pro is that
you can smell good and look your best without having to dive into the entire
skincare regime hassles and routines yourself.
There’s also the
benefit of people admiring and wanting to hear you out whenever you show up.
The Cons of Looking Attractive
Looking attractive
still takes resources to achieve. While you take time not to do a skincare
routine at all, you still need to step out and buy the alternatives which are
clothes and body enhancers.
Secondly, you are not
aware of what you are putting on your skin, especially creams and fragrance you
use directly on your skin.
And then there is the
issue of running into skin problems as cancer, irritations and aging.
Yes, clothes and fragrances have the ability to making us look incredible but we are humans in need of a basic skincare in order to stay healthy.
Which Is Better?
Smelling nice or looking
attractive?
Here’s my view point:
Both options have their
pros and cons, so why not combine both into a magnet that pulls attention to
you?
I have my skincare
routine pasted on my mirror in my bedroom which I do after bathing.
After that I wear my
crazy simple casual outfits to compliment my smell.
The other accessories I
use are my watch, sunglasses, leather belt, pulse and my
And of course I go out
to do my business and am met with loads of compliments and secret admirers.
