Brushing your teeth takes generally little of our time, or it can if you let it.
The thing is microorganism, germs, and dirt loves the tongue. Food residues are what they are simply thriving on, where they can survive for long.
And I'll be honest, each time I forget to brush or skimped my oral care routine, it really reflects in my bad breath.
But each time I clean my tongue really well while brushing my teeth, it tends to dampen the bad breathe really well.
The problem lies in the fact not too many people know how to brush or thoroughly cleanse their mouth as a whole properly. Not many of us have the extra patience to brush for long.
Right now, I am brushing thrice a day as a part of my oral care routine (2 minutes at a stretch!).
*Yeah, coming from a guy who’s always going on a dinner date with his lady.
And this has really helped me to cultivate good oral hygiene and better fresher breathing.
So, what's my clever routine to get around this hurdle?
CRAZY SIMPLE BRUSHING TACTICS
#1 Use a Teeth Reminder
I use it on an almost daily basis.
I really don’t know how I came about this tool but am glad I did find it!
You can use the teeth reminder to account for how times in a week you floss, blush or did a good oral cleaning.
As a rule in my oral care routine, I tend to brush almost 3× in a day. This way I prevent plaque from building up on my gums and tongue.
#2 Pay Attention to Meal Types
The type of meals you consume each and every time tells a lot on your mouth odor. Beware of stinky food substances like garlic. Always wash your mouth as soon as you ingest any meal that could change your breath.
#3 Utilize the Best Time You Have
Your teeth, gum, and oral cavity, in general, does the work of chewing and munching each time you devour your food.
That is why you need not to only clean and flush out food that remains from your mouth but also to ensure that it stays as fresh as possible.
Therefore, you can create time intervals when nothing enters your mouth. Though you are still going to have bad breathe (because of the actions of the microorganisms) but at a subdued smell.
This is particularly useful when you are looking for how to watch your appetite and thus cure bad breath. Perhaps you are the constant snacking type, or perhaps you never did all of that but still had bad breathe.
So, after snacking it is advisable to brush and then apply your oral rinse for an added cleansing and freshness.
#4 Upgrade from Your Normal Oral Care Routine
If you do brush once in every week, maybe it's time to step it up to at least once everyday. Doing this will prevent the plaque from growing and only then will your bad breathe seizes.
Invest in really good toothpaste and also ensure to change your toothbrush every three months in each year.
After you have done this, then look for a good bad breathe mouthwash to compliment your oral care products.
#5 Use Fluoride Toothpaste
Instead of just worrying about mouth odor and blindly putting mouth wash into your mouth to rid it off almost immediately, take a look at your toothpaste.
I often get lost reading those labels of active ingredients, etc.
It is REALLY informative though, so make sure to read it.
Compare your findings with the above and that of your toothpaste, and see if the major active ingredient is missing.
Those are the first indications that your toothpaste is actually the man for the job.
Another tactic to have in mind is not to rinse your mouth with water immediately after you brush your teeth.
#6 Brush Regularly
The key to staying clear from mouth stink and having a fresh breath all day long is to brush regularly.
Your mouth will reward you for being both consistent and riding off bad breathe causing microorganisms from their platform.
It shouldn't take you forever to brush but that does lead to another tip.
#7 Good Mouth Wash Matters
No matter the amount of toothpaste you apply on your toothbrush, if you already have bad breath without topping your oral care hygiene with a very good oral rinse, then it is sure that the bad breath will persist.
Good mouth wash matters a lot. After all, they are super active against microorganisms causing bad-breathe (Halitosis).
Think, cool mint, safe, and problem-specific without being harmful.
Your mouth wash should be specific and does the work it is supposed to do.
So, if you have sores you probably may not need a thrush clearing mouth wash.
Do you get the hint?
But are you supposed to rinse after using mouthwash?
Well, it is quite obvious you don't want to have it sitting for long in your mouth, right?
OTHER MOUTH WASH TIPS TO COMBAT BAD BREATHES
Using fluoride toothpaste and mouthwash regularly will make a huge difference to your breath, but there are several other tips that will help you combat bad breathe effectively.
#1 What Is the Purpose of Mouth Wash?
Okay, here’s the thing.
The reality is that when you first started out your oral hygiene-learning how to keep to the regular brushing right from childhood, you probably didn’t realize the need of using a mouth rinse.
Some do actually, but not too many of them.
*I was one of them.
But guess what?
Mouth washes are one of the best oral products that can be used to tame your mouth from stinky after consuming a sumptuous meal at a dinner night party or a restaurant.
Why this is so is because if you use them correctly you can completely get rid of bad breathe coming especially from meals.
Yeah, for real!
However, it can be difficult to actually decipher which mouth wash is best to stop bad breathe, as there are quite a number of them in the market selling for different mouth specific problems.
That’s why this post talks about mouth wash made for bad breathe only.
So, for clarity, the purposes of a good mouth rinse depend on their function.
#2 Is Mouth Wash Good or Bad?
Typically speaking, your use of mouth wash should be focused on incorporating it into your oral care routine.
However, when it comes to the side effects of using a mouth wash almost every day then you can be a little bit inquisitive.
Don’t be afraid to use mouth rinses if you have bad breathe and see how it works.
And you know why?
I use it almost all the time I brush my teeth and floss my mouth, but not too frequently.
Most of the time I use it is because I do have cravings for oily foods and my mouth usually end up smelling like garbage.
To this, I use a reasonable amount of mouth wash to freshen my breath once again.
So, from my experience mouths, washes are dope at leaving me with not only clean fresh breathe but also with healthy gum as well.
They become bad when you either swallow them or don’t properly use them as instructed.
Mouthwashes are made from chemical ingredients that may or may not be harmful when consumed but this actually depends on the amount swallowed.
#3 What are The Types of Mouthwash?
There are some mouthwashes that are just more active and specific than others.
Knowing which one is best for the treatment of bad mouth odor is a great leap from where you are now on your oral care routine.
And you know what?
You don’t need to do research and sweat all day scrolling through Google to see which mouth rinse is actually good for someone with a really bad and annoying breath.
Here below are the types of mouth wash:
√ Mouthwash for thrush
√ Mouthwash for sores
√ Bad Breathe Mouthwash
#4 Is It Ok To Use Mouth Wash Every day?
While it is actually good to have fun trying out your new breath and new mouth wash, it is also important that you don't overuse it.
#5 Pay Attention to the Long Term Effects
Your mouth wash and the oral care routine you adopt are equally important to the overall success you will have.
#6 What Is the Best Mouthwash?
The second to the last tip I love is, to use a good mouth rinse, if not the best.
No one would like to sit around having a conversation with someone with really bad breath. This would do a whole lot of bad to your personality.
If people want to meet with you like a good-looking guy and they perceive something else, they will quickly withdraw.
Not only that, you may lose your confidence since trying to look naturally attractive is a hard thing to do.
Remember, there’s actually a big difference between smelling nice vs. looking attractive.
Anyways, the best mouth wash should have one or all of the following royalties:
√ Must be effective
√ Does not cause irritation
√ It should have a long lasting effect
